Real-Time / Minute-Level Data Coverage · Privora

Is the price you're looking at fresh? How far back does the history go? — A-shares, HK stocks, gold, funds, spelled out

Most platforms just claim their data is comprehensive without telling you the two things that actually matter: how fresh the price you're looking at right now is, and how far back the history actually goes. This page lays out 29+ of Privora's published assets one by one — grouped into six categories, with refresh frequency, coverage, and start date spelled out for each.

Preview of minute-level and real-time market data samples in the Privora marketplace

The three categories tied to freshness and history depth, up front

① Live updates — how fresh is what you're seeing

Five-level bid/ask snapshots, minute bars, exchange-traded ETF/LOF real-time quotes — refresh frequency and freshness for each asset, listed below.

See live-update details ↓

② Historical data — how far back you can go

Daily stock bars, gold/silver, fund NAV and dividends — each asset gets one clear start date, not a blanket "full history" claim.

See historical start dates ↓

③ Corporate actions / dividends — is the dividend counted in your return

Stock dividends, fund dividends — event-driven, not on a fixed schedule; stock_dividend's fields are much richer than fund_dividend's.

Coverage, frequency, freshness — no adjectives, just the table

The tables below list the actual coverage, refresh frequency, and start date for 29+ of Privora's published assets (origin team), grouped into six categories. Ticker counts and row counts that change over time are marked with a "+" to indicate a floor, not a claim of exact precision; start dates and other facts that don't drift are quoted verbatim. stock_day, stock_day_hk, and stock_day_us are all one-row-per-stock-per-day snapshot tables where each row is overwritten in place, but they don't all refresh the same way intraday: stock_day (A-share) refreshes roughly every minute during the trading session, while stock_day_hk and stock_day_us only write that day's row after their own market closes, showing the prior trading day's close until then — this asset family is the one most often misunderstood, explained separately below.

Table 1: Live-Update Data Details

The "Frequency" column tells you how often this kind of quote data refreshes; the "Start Date" column tells you how far back it goes. Ticker counts and row counts carry a "+" to indicate a measured floor that shifts normally with each daily data load — that isn't a sign of a data error.

Two spec boundaries worth confirming before you rely on this data

Most competitors are vague about what "minute-level" or "real-time" actually means. Here are the two distinctions most worth checking before you rely on this data.

stock_minutes is a five-level snapshot, not tick-by-tick

It samples the last price and five-level bid/ask price & size roughly every 60-90 seconds — it is not exchange tick-by-tick trade data. If you need raw order flow, this isn't it; if you need minute-level candles, use stock_kline.

stock_kline is the real minute-level candlestick

OHLCV bars across five granularities (1m/5m/15m/30m/60m) — genuinely minute-level and usable directly for minute-level technical analysis or backtesting.

Why exchange ETF traders should watch IOPV and premium/discount

IOPV (indicative optimized portfolio value) and the premium/discount rate are the two numbers exchange-traded ETF traders care about most — and the two most often missing from free data sources. They tell you whether the current trade price is running above or below the ETF's actual underlying NAV.

1,500+ exchange ETFs, IOPV populated in ~96% of rows

We provide IOPV for 1,500+ exchange-traded ETFs, populated in about 96% of rows measured; premium/discount rate is populated in about 95%.

LOFs currently have no IOPV or premium/discount

The 390+ LOFs share the same real-time field structure as ETFs, but the IOPV and premium/discount columns are currently empty across the board — we'd rather state that gap plainly than borrow ETF field names to paper over it.

Why most free sources skip these two numbers

IOPV requires real-time valuation of an ETF's underlying constituents, which costs more to compute than simply forwarding the order-book price — which is why it's commonly omitted from free market apps.

Table 2: Historical Data Start Dates

The table below lists content, coverage, and refresh frequency for each historical asset — and, most importantly, the data start date. We list it asset by asset instead of a blanket "full history" claim.

Asset Content Coverage Frequency Data Start Date
Daily Stock Bars (A-share) stock_day Daily OHLC + dealtime (timestamp of the most recent write) (A-share: SH/SZ/BJ) SH 2,300+ / SZ 5,000+ / BJ 300+ stocks (reported separately per market, not as a single combined total) One row per stock per day, overwritten in place; refreshes roughly every minute intraday, final print after market close SH/SZ since 2001-01-03 (about 25 years); BJ since 2021-11-15
Daily Stock Bars (HK) stock_day_hk Daily OHLC + dealtime (timestamp of the most recent write) (Hong Kong) HK 3,000+ stocks One row per stock per day, overwritten in place; the day's row lands after the Hong Kong market closes (around 16:45 HKT) — intraday it still shows the prior trading day's close (for HK intraday quotes, see stock_kline_hk in the table above) Since 2001-01-03 (about 25 years)
Daily Stock Bars (US) stock_day_us Daily OHLC + dealtime (timestamp of the most recent write) (US) US 12,000+ stocks One row per stock per day, overwritten in place; the day's row lands after the US market closes — intraday it still shows the prior trading day's close Since 2016-01-04 (about 10 years)
Fund Daily NAV fund_day Fund daily NAV OTC (off-exchange) funds 25,000+ / exchange-traded funds 2,000+ (reported separately per basis, not as a single combined total) Daily (T+1 disclosure) Since 2011-01-01 (about 15 years)
Gold/Silver Daily Bars metal_day SGE precious-metal daily bars, including settlement price and open interest 10 contracts, 35,000+ rows Daily Since 2002-10-31 (about 24 years)

Daily stock bars and minute-level candlesticks are published as separate per-market assets in the marketplace: stock_day (A-share: SH/SZ/BJ), stock_day_hk (Hong Kong), stock_day_us (US); stock_kline (A-share: SH/SZ/BJ), stock_kline_hk (Hong Kong). stock_minutes is not split by market — it's a single asset covering SH, SZ, and HK. Fund dividends (fund_dividend) and fund static attributes (fund_codes) have moved to their own groups below. Check the exact asset name and list you actually subscribe to in the marketplace.

Table 3: Corporate Actions / Dividend Details

Stock dividends (stock_dividend) and fund dividends (fund_dividend) are both event-driven — new records only appear when a dividend or bonus-share event occurs, not on a fixed schedule. stock_dividend's fields are much richer than fund_dividend's.

Asset Content Coverage Frequency Ex-Dividend Start Date
Stock Dividends / Corporate Actions stock_dividend Cash dividend / after-tax cash dividend / bonus shares / bonus-share ratio / capitalization ratio / ex-dividend date / payment date / record date / bonus-share listing date / dividend plan / capitalization period — a complete corporate-actions table, with much richer fields than fund_dividend About 600,000+ records / 15,000+ stocks combined; by market: US 400,000+ / 7,000+; SZ 90,000+ / 3,000+; SH 70,000+ / 2,400+; HK 26,000+ / 2,000+; BJ 1,400+ / 300+ (reported separately per market, not as a single combined total) Event-driven (only updates on a dividend / bonus-share event) US since 1962-01-16 (about 64 years, the deepest history on the whole site); SZ since 1991-06-08; SH since 1993-08-30; HK since 1999-04-30; BJ since 2012-04-10
Fund Dividend Records fund_dividend Fund dividend records (ex-dividend date / dividend amount) OTC (off-exchange): 10,000+ records / 4,000+ funds; exchange-traded: 900+ records / 200+ funds (reported separately per basis, not as a single combined total) Event-driven (only updates on a dividend event) Ex-dividend dates since 2025-01-02

The maximum ex-dividend date for stock_dividend and fund_dividend may include future dates — these are announced-but-not-yet-executed dividend plans, which is normal forward-looking data, not dirty data.

Common questions about real-time / minute-level data coverage

Is stock_minutes the same as tick-by-tick data?
No. stock_minutes is a five-level bid/ask snapshot roughly every 60-90 seconds (last price plus five-level bid/ask price and size), not exchange tick-by-tick trade data. If you need tick data, this asset isn't a fit; if you need minute-level candles, use stock_kline instead.
What's the IOPV coverage for exchange-traded ETFs, and why does it matter?
We provide IOPV for 1,500+ exchange-traded ETFs, populated in about 96% of rows measured; premium/discount rate in about 95%. IOPV tells you whether the current trade price is running above or below the ETF's actual underlying NAV — the key number for deciding whether to trade at the current price, and something most free data sources don't provide.
How far back does the historical data go?
The start date differs by asset, and we list it asset by asset instead of a blanket "full history" claim: stock_day (A-share) is since 2001-01-03 (about 25 years) for SH/SZ, and since 2021-11-15 for BJ; stock_day_hk (HK) is since 2001-01-03 (about 25 years); stock_day_us (US) is since 2016-01-04 (about 10 years). fund_day is since 2011-01-01 (about 15 years). metal_day since 2002-10-31 (about 24 years), fund_dividend ex-dividend dates since 2025-01-02. stock_minutes, stock_kline, and stock_kline_hk are all since 2026-04-01; stock_kline and stock_kline_hk are intraday real-time data meant for checking the current quote, while stock_minutes' same-day rows aren't queryable until the next trading day. fund_realtime itself is not retained long-term (about the last 8 days).
Is minute-level coverage the same for HK stocks and A-shares?
Close but not identical: stock_minutes covers A-share SH 2,400+ / SZ 3,000+ and HK 2,800+ (a single asset, not split by market); minute-level candlesticks are published as two separate assets — stock_kline (A-share, SH 2,300+ / SZ 2,800+) and stock_kline_hk (Hong Kong, 2,800+). The exact coverage is whatever asset list you see when you subscribe.
